To help starters to speed up their paces I recommend few sources here I found helpful.

1- ActiveBPEL Designer User Guide

This is the best resource I used. It's very practical and could be used stand alone. It's free from ActiveBPEL. Also there is an open source BPEL engine available from the same vendor.

2- WS-BPEL 2.0 OASIS Specs

This is not an easy resource but it helps as a reference rather than a study guide.

3- SOA for the Business Developer: Concepts, BPEL, and SCA, First Edition

This book has an appendix for BPEL 2.0. Also it's a nice book.

4- ActiveBPEL Samples

This is very useful samples. If you follow them all you will have a very good understanding of BPEL 2.0. ActiveBPEL also has some proprietary extensions to BPEL 2.0. I think these extensions also are very important.

I hope these resources be useful for any one who needs to learn BPEL 2.0

I'll try to talk about BPEL tools soon. Also SOA & BPM will be our most important topics to talk about it in the nearest future.

Thanks

Ahmad Khalafallah

Ahmad Khalafallah
